After you set variants and pricing, you have the option to use the values in that Variants & Pricing section.
Setting the Use Defaults toggle to ON:
This will use the costs, prices, PAR Levels and Reorder Quantities set in the Variants & Pricing section.
When you update a default value, all locations using defaults will be updated simultaneously.
Setting the Use Defaults toggle to OFF:
This will let you set custom costs, prices, PAR Levels, and Reorder Quantities for that location.
NOTE: Shopify will not allow a product to have different prices, for different locations, when they are on the same Shopify account.
Use Cases
You can think of this as a location "override." Suppose you have multiple locations, and the pricing is the same at all of them except one. The majority will "Use defaults," and the other can have its own details.
If you have a single location, this feature can be used for temporary changes. For example, you may normally sell my product for $10, but want it temporarily listed at $8. You can turn Use Defaults off and set the new price to $8. When the sale is over, all I need to do is turn Use Defaults back on and the item will revert to its usual price without having to type it in again.
Bulk Options
Toggle the Use Defaults option ON or OFF in bulk using the Edit Variant Bulk Upload.
