Thrive Inventory by Shopventory's powerful tracking tools make it easy to track consignment sales. There are several methods for achieving this inside of Thrive Inventory. You decide which method makes the most sense for your business!  

Options

  • You can create the consigner as a Category. Thrive Inventory allows you to add more than one Category to a product. Just be aware that this does affect Category-based reporting.

  • You can assign the consigner as a Vendor. Thrive Inventory does allow Vendor-based filtering. 

  • You can use the Barcode field in the product settings. A Thrive Inventory Barcode can be shared across multiple products and it doesn't have to be number (text is allowed). So every product that comes from a consigner can have the same Barcode. 

  • You can also track consignments by using the Product Name field:

Whichever method you chose, it is usually best to use a CODE if you don't want your end Customer to know your consigner's name. (For example, if you order from Ana Smith Designs, you could create a code of "ASD" like the screenshot above). 

This way, you can obscure the consigner's name from your end customers and quickly be able to search/filter by the consigner.
