Use Assemblies as part of your wholesale production process to ensure the proper quantities are deducted and credited. Assemblies take a group of products and turn them into a different final product.
The components/ingredients/materials you start off with are your input products. The final product will be your output and is usually the end sellable product for your customer. Instead of deducting and crediting quantities at the time of sale like a Bundle, the products are deducted and credited when you choose.
Assemblies are also used to break down large items into smaller, sellable units. Keep reading for more use-case examples on how Assemblies can be used for your business!

Coffee Roasting Example
We are a coffee roaster that takes large bags of green coffee beans and roasts them (in-house) into a consumable product. From there, we use the beans for coffee and espresso drinks in our shop, 1 lb bags to sell in our retail location, and 5 lb bags we sell to wholesale accounts.
We start with 110 lbs (50 kg) bags of green coffee beans. When we roast them, we'll lose (on average) 16.5% of the weight in the process. That will give us a total of a little over 92 lbs to work with.
This is where Assemblies come in.
For the 5 lb bags we sell wholesale, we can create a template to later run. Add our roasted coffee beans product (in lbs) as the input as shown here:

For our output we'll have the 5 lb coffee bags as shown here:
NOTE: You can use Assemblies to break the Roasted Coffee Beans product into 1 lb bags to sell to customers. You can also use Assemblies during the roasting process when you turn green coffee beans into roasted beans.
Once the template/recipe is saved, we can move on to the Run sections and actually carry out the Assembly. Click on the Run section and then "Start Assembly" as shown here:
Add your template and the number of runs you would like Thrive to perform and select your Starting and Ending locations (and be sure to add any Fees). When that's set, click the "Run" button:
The next screen will be a preview of all the actions that are about to take place. If everything is looking good, click the "Continue Run" button:
NOTE: If you don't have sufficient quantities of a product to complete a Run, you will need to adjust those quantities before moving forward.
And that's it! The correct quantities are credited and debited and now we've got 15 bags of our light roast coffee for our wholesale customers!
