Thrive and Shopify both have many product fields and there are some differences between the two platforms. When you first connect your Shopify account to Thrive, you have the option to import your product catalog (from Shopify). However, Thrive won't import all fields since Shopify places restrictions on what exactly we can import.

Here are the product fields Thrive import when you first connect your Shopify account and import your catalog (please note if the product field is not listed, we will not sync it):

Once you've connected and imported your catalog from Shopify to Thrive, Thrive will now sync updates to product fields to your Shopify account. More information on how Thrive syncs can be found here.

Below are the fields we sync in real-time (along with a few notable ones that we do not sync):

Shipping

For details on the specific shipping fields we sync to Shopify, check out this article:

If you have questions about a particular field syncing, please refer to this guide first as it will have the most up-to-date information.

Online Availability

Synced products, that are enabled for at least one location for Shopify, will show up in your online store, even if your e-commerce location isn't enabled in Thrive.

To disable it from your Shopify site, disable your Online Store for that product as shown here:

This action can also be done in bulk on Shopify.

Things to Note:

  • We do not sync to Shopify's "Compare at price." To utilize that feature, you would need to manually set the "Compare at price" (generally the old price) in Shopify directly and then add the new sale price to Thrive. Check out our article on Use Defaults for a tip on running temporary sales.

  • Tags/Labels generated from the SKU field will not scan on the Shopify POS. Instead, use the Barcode field.

  • Digital Products will not be imported. These products should be created and edited exclusively in Shopify.
